In other words, YouTube is kinda ready for the possible future of videos. When/if consumer 3D cameras or simple 3D processing appsĀ become widely available YouTube may have a well developed way to display them…assuming this feature has not already been dropped by Google.
To check out 3D videos do a YouTube search for “yt3d:enable=true”.
Edit: Since this post was written YouTube has removed the 3D options from the video page itself, but has left the 3D options on its respective channel. So when viewing a 3D video head to the users channel and find the right video.
Edit 2: YouTube has politely added a link to the proper channel on the most 3D video pages. Oddly some videos you may still have to navigate to proper channel manually.
